Stage 1 Topping Out Ceremony

Along with our building partners, Astina, late January marked an important milestone in the construction of One East Side: the topping out. Traditionally an industry event, the topping out ceremony signifies the successful completion of the highest point of the structural phase of a project. The centuries-old ceremony involves hoisting an evergreen tree to the tallest point of the building to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck to its occupants.
